For the Love of Poetry
In our Reading unit this quarter, the 5th graders read 3 different poems. They were able to identify figurative language such as similes and metaphors. They were also able to compare the poems and find rhyming schemes in the poetry. After reading poems, the students wrote their own poems based on a sunrise or sunset they have seen. They wrote their poems on an artistic background that they created.Take a look at some of their work. They did a great job!
