Balloons Over Broadway

Image
In honor of the 97th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade the 5th grade class listened to the story "Balloons Over Broadway". The story told how the first balloons were created for the annual parade. After listening to the story, the students were asked to design their own balloon for the parade. They wrote an opinion paragraph to support their ideas and designs. Then we created our balloons as a STREAM project.

The students of St. James School honored verterans with a special breakfast and presentation. Veterans were invited to have breakfast with their student family members. Each grade level performed a song and special poems were read. The whole school sang God Bless America at the end of the program. It was a great way to honor the men and women who support our country!
