Gingerbread Geometry STEM Project

 The 5th graders worked in groups today to complete the Gingerbread Geometry project. The students had to follow directions to complete calculations determining area and perimeter. The also calcuted these figures for the windows, door and roof. They also followed directions to put their houses together and decorate! Take a look at their finished projects.

Volume Snowmen

 Fifth graders learned how to find the volume of cubic figures by learning a formula and completed this fun project. Each group measured the length, width and heightbof their boxes in order to calculate the volume of each box in cubic inches. The we calculated the total volume by adding. Next they learned how to wrap a package. Students could could decorate their snowman after assembling it. Take a look at their great results!
