Celebrating Black History Month

During the month of February we celebrate Black History month. The students in 5th grade each chose 2 important people that have made great accomplishments in their lives. They did research on the 2 people and then they completed a poster for each person. When we finished our posters each student presented what they learned to the class. Buddy Time!

This yrear the 5th graders will be buddies with the 2nd graders. Each child will be paired up with a buddy for the year. The 5th grade students will be role models to their little buddy. Volume Snowmen

 Fifth graders learned how to find the volume of cubic figures by learning a formula and completed this fun project. Each group measured the length, width and heightbof their boxes in order to calculate the volume of each box in cubic inches. The we calculated the total volume by adding. Next they learned how to wrap a package. Students could could decorate their snowman after assembling it. Take a look at their great results!
